Nurses Week, Reimagined

A Case Study with Matrix Providers

Nurses Week is an important moment on the calendar for recognition—but for organizations supporting providers across multiple roles, locations, and schedules, a single week can feel limiting.

For Matrix Providers, the goal was to create a program that felt more inclusive, more structured, and easier to execute at scale.

Expanding the Program

We partnered with their team to evolve Nurses Week into Matrix Providers Month, breaking May into dedicated weeks of recognition:

  • Nursing
  • Physician
  • Ancillary
  • Dental

Each group received its own moment, messaging, and gifting—allowing the program to feel more tailored without adding complexity on their end.

This structure also created a clearer internal rollout, giving their team defined touchpoints throughout the month instead of one compressed initiative.

Evolving the Gifting Strategy

The program has developed throughout the years. Early iterations focused on items like custom woven socks—easy to distribute across a large, dispersed workforce and well received by providers.

As the program matured, the focus shifted toward more tailored apparel—specifically, a custom scrub program designed specifically for their providers.

Instead of pre-selecting sizes or distributing standard inventory, we built a pop-up web shop where each provider could select their preferred size and fit.

From there, our team at Nichez managed:

  • Product sourcing and production
  • Size-level order collection
  • Kitting and packaging
  • Direct-to-recipient fulfillment

This removed the burden from internal teams while ensuring accuracy and a better end-user experience.

Program Impact

The shift to a more structured and personalized approach led to strong engagement and positive feedback from providers. The web shop model eliminated common challenges like sizing issues and leftover inventory, while the move to role-specific gifting made the program feel more intentional. Most importantly, the items were actually used—integrating into providers’ daily routines rather than being set aside.

Programs like this work because they balance thoughtful design with operational simplicity.

A clear structure.
Relevant products.
Seamless execution.

For organizations planning Nurses Week or broader appreciation initiatives, the opportunity isn’t just to give something—it’s to build a program that works for both the team receiving it and the team managing it.
