

Don Bernardo Cigars, a boutique Dominican Republic cigar maker, partnered with Nichez to develop a brand identity worthy of its heritage, craftsmanship, and bold character. Rooted in the legacy of fine Dominican tobacco and inspired by an adventurous, larger-than-life conquistador archetype, the brand needed to feel both classic and charismatic—an identity that could stand confidently alongside the world’s most distinguished cigar labels.
Nichez was tasked with creating a logo, icon system, packaging direction, and brand touchpoints that were instantly recognizable, refined, and infused with story.
The creative output: a visually rich and iconic system anchored by the Don Bernardo mascot—a figure reminiscent of a modern-day conquistador with the charm and mystique of “the most interesting man alive.”
